BUDDY BIKE FEATURES

The Buddy Bike is an inline tandem bicycle (bicycle for two) that places the stoker in the front seat while the rear rider controls the steering. It is shorter in length than a standard tandem and has a lower front seat so both riders can safely enjoy the view. The Buddy Bike can support up to 380 pounds; making it the ultimate family bike that can be enjoyed by riders of all ages and abilities. Its features make it especially beneficial for special needs children who otherwise would not be able to experience the thrill of riding a bicycle.

ALL BUDDY BIKE MODELS FEATURE:

  • Stoker rides in front while Captain steers from rear seat

  • Lower front seat allows both riders to safely enjoy the view

  • Innovative patented handlebar setup gives child rider a sense of control without being in control

  • Maximum weight 380 lbs. supports two adults to accommodate riders of all ages

  • No height restrictions but rear rider should be able to see over the front riders head to safely steer the bicycle

  • Pedals connected to same drive chain so riders work together

  • Fold-out foot pegs provide foot rest for child riders who can't reach pedals or who may tire easily (Sold separately)

BUDDY BIKE FAMILY BB102

STANDARD TANDEM

The Buddy Bike is up to 15" shorter than a standard tandem bicycle. Try riding both of them, first alone, then with a partner. The compact frame of the Buddy Bike makes it easier to control, and unlike the regular tandem, its fun to ride solo or partnered. The Buddy Bike's compact size also makes it easier to store and transport.

PATENTED HANDLEBAR SETUP

LOWER FRONT SEAT
puts the smaller rider up front and allows both riders to safely enjoy the view.
Pedals work together on same drive chain.

The unique handlebar setup of the Buddy Bike allows the front rider to feel all of the steering movements, while the leverage inherent in the extended rear handlebars gives the rear rider total control. Front and rear brakes and the shifters are included in that control. The front rider holds onto the smaller set of bars, which also have rear braking capacity (on most models). Both sets of handlebars are fully adjustable and should be customized by your bike shop during assembly.

Children can easily hold onto the handlebars and stay seated and balanced, but for the child who can't quite reach the pedals we have optional fold out foot pegs which attach to the frame. Many kids aged five to eight fit that description. Front riders must have an inseam of 25" to reach the pedals. The adjustable seats make it a snap to fit riders of all dimensions.

FOLD OUT FOOT PEGS
provide foot rest for smaller front rider
(sold separately)
