SHELLEY'S LESSON FOR THE DAY
ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMET!

On September 25 of last year, while mountain biking in Las Vegas, I went head first over the handlebars and did something similar to a WWF pile driver. Fortunately, I was wearing a very high quality helmet which did not even crack, although I fractured most of the bones in my upper body! I also believe that the helmet allowed me to be conscious when they came to help me so I could give my details and call my family so they could know that I was in the hospital.

I have two lessons to offer. The first is to always wear your helmet! They are not just for children. Although you may only be riding around the block, accidents happen very quickly and if you are riding with your child, it is very important for you to remain conscious should anything happen. And second, a RoadID can prove to be a wonderful and maybe even life-saving cycling accessory especially if riding with your children. Several types of RoadID are available. You should buy one for yourself and for your child rider. You can include personal information, emergency phone numbers and medical information. You can even order an Interactive ID which allows you to store your personal information in an online account. I hope you never have an accident like mine but that through my experience you can learn and be prepared!

The next FOUR customers to place orders will receive  RoadID certificate(s) worth $21.48 (approx value of 1 RoadID)! Order Buddy Bike BB101 or Buddy Bike Family to receive ONE certificate or purchase Buddy Bike Sport and receive TWO certificates!
Offer valid through 2/19/08.

Contact Shelley for a coupon for $1 off any RoadID order.
Offer valid through 2/19/08 or while supplies last.

HONORARY CHAIRPERSON OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS PURCHASES BUDDY BIKE FOR A CAUSE

On November 13, 2007, philanthropist Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Executive Vice President of the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation and Honorary Chairperson of Special Olympics, purchased a Buddy Bike through an auction at the 2007 Best Buddies Virginia "Life is Sweet" Benefit Gala. Over 500 attendees viewed the Buddy Bike which was showcased in the front room of the event at The Four Seasons in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. The Buddy Bike earned $1500 for the organization and will continue to benefit special needs children as Eunice Kennedy Shriver will use the bike for events held at her estate.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver has been a leader in the worldwide struggle to improve and enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities for more than three decades. CLICK HERE for more information about Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
