Buddy Bike Family Rides
offer a chance for adaptive cycling families to bike ride
together. The rides offer children and adults with
disabilities the opportunity to enjoy an improved quality of
life and health. Cycling may help riders with special needs
to build confidence and self esteem, to make new friends
through social interaction, and to become empowered and
inspired to fearlessly pursue their dreams!
Rides are 15 miles or less
at a nice leisurely pace. Ideal trails are mostly flat and
free of traffic for safety. Some rides may include a point
of interest such as a park, historical site or lunch stop.
We ask that ALL riders wear helmets on our Family Rides, not
just the kids! Children must be accompanied by parents at
all times. There are no fees to participate but park
entrance fees may apply. All bicycles are welcome so feel
free to invite your friends!

Directions:
E-470 to Jordan Road going north. Go east/right on
Cottonwood Drive. There will be a parking lot on the
right/south side. Parking is free but limited so share a
ride!
The Ride: Our
ride will cover approximately 12 miles starting at the
Cottonwood Drive parking lot and heading south and
veering left/east at the split just past Main Street.
The turn around point will be at Canterberry Parkway. On
the return, we will make a stop at the Farmers Market
behind Main Street Center at Victorian Circle to the
right/north of the bike path just past City Hall.
What to Bring:
Money to enjoy snacks and beverages at the
Farmers Market. As our customers safety is our primary
concern, we suggest bike helmets for all riders. We will
provide some bike repair tools but please bring plenty
of sun block and spare bike tires and inner tubes as I
hear that thorns are a big issue in Colorado. It is also
a good idea to bring bug spray and a camera!

Our last Buddy Bike Group
Ride in Miami was such fun that we decided to have one
more before the hot, lazy days of summer set in! The
group ride took place on Sunday, April 22 at Shark
Valley in the Florida Everglades. This bike ride was
open to Buddy Bike owners and their guests.

Annual Buddy Bike Group Ride in Shark Valley
Everglades National Park, FL
The first annual Buddy Bike
Club group ride was held at Shark Valley in the Florida
Everglades National Park on Saturday,
December 2, 2006. Buddy Bike owners and several other guests,
including Mike Gomez, the President of the
Everglades
Bicycle Club, enjoyed the sunshine and all natural
surroundings.
One of our
riders, Ella, says, "Thanks for the Group Ride! What a
blast. What a GORGEOUS ride!...A highlight for me was
watching a snake bird dart around underwater from up in the
tower. Johanna now stands up on her pegs so it's like
Buddy Bike cirque de soleil. She had a wondrous ride...That
should be at least annual and I'd love to do another group
ride anytime anywhere."
